Re: fatal blue screen problem, I know whats wrong!
You can use a Linux Live CD. Which has the necessary tools to access your drive. Knoppix would work. Also, look into creating a XP Recovery Disk. http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=videos/barts-pe-builder-intro For Linux Live go to www.distrowatch.com Easiest would be to connect your hosed drive to ...

Re: Recover XP
Did the user leave you with two versions of WinXP and you get a menu to select one or the other? Or did the user install another version of XP and that's the only one it boots to? Re: Help error message when removing external hard drive
Hank, try going to C:\Windows\System32 Folder. Scroll down to rundll32.exe. Rename to rundll32.bak. XP will create a new rundll32.exe. It takes about a minute. WinFile Protection will warn you but ignore the warning. I tried this myself before passing it on. "Hank" <hgreintges@skybest.com> wrote in ...

Re: HEEELLLPPPPP
If your computer is "New" to you and not a Factory New Computer then I agree with all the other posters. Just do a google search on Formatting a Hard Drive. Better still just go to www.bootdisk.com and look under Guides To "MMERTZ" <MMERTZ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:478F326F ...

Re: windows xp can't see drive C in normal mode
Richard, if you can boot into Safe Mode try doing a System Restore from there. In the boot.ini file you could also try changing the partition value from 1 to 0. Re: windows xp can't see drive C in normal mode
Richard, did you do a Repair Install of WinXP? Boot.ini is seeing two versions of XP and is giving you a choice on startup.
