Did the previous antivirus' subscription expire or are you installing NIS to remove an infection ? Suggest you have the files listed scanned here: http://www.virustotal.com/ The .dat files yield no hits on google and the protect.dll may be malware-related. The 2 subfolders containing "update" were created when the system installed Windows updates. They *should* have been deleted when the system was rebooted. The reason they were written to the newer HD was that it has the *most* available free space. That's just the way Automatic Updates uses free ...
