I use Winmx for P2P. I send files to one folder and then move them
when they are complete. So the files I am trying to move have never
been open. When I try to move them I get the message that I can't
move them (used by another program). I have discovered that I can
rename the files and move them most of the time. Once in a while that
doesn't work.
I would like to figure out a way to move them without rebooting my
computer (rebooting fixes the problem) I remember finding a command
line fix a long time ago that you put in the "run" command like
xxxxxx.dll but I can't find the info any more.
Anyone know of the command line or a fix that work without rebooting?
Thanks

I concur with "VanguardLH" that "Unlocker" is a great [& free] program - I
have it on my system - which automatically intervenes to show you the
culprit process when a system operation instigated by you (such as copy,
cut, paste, delete) is blocked by it.
You can then use the "Unlock" button to "unhook" that process and usually
free up your copy / move / delete operation so it can complete....

I will give it a try.
Thanks everyone
BTW, the file I could not get to move or rename the filename worked
when I deleted the extension. I then moved the file and added the avi
extension again.
This is becoming very annoying.

But that only downloads the 32-bit version (with no warning that a 64-bit
exists). Better to go to the site that VanguardLH recommended and pick the
right one for your system. That was:

Winmx is still around. I don't use Torrent because my ISP has sent me
a couple of warnings about my choice of content.

I just stumbled on this page today:
http://lifehacker.com/286607/intermedia ... bittorrent
Which links to this page:
http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Bad_ISPs#United_ ... of_America
Your ISP may be listed on it. Fortunately mine is not.
