Problem with internal Fax and Picture viewer

Post by thomas heinemann »

Hello

I've got a problem with the internal Fax and Picture viewer.
When I download any pictures from my Samsung D890 mobile phone Im not
able to turn and save any of this pictures. Windows told me, that
there is not enough space or the file is write protectet. But neither
the folder or the files are write protected an 4 GB free disk space
should be enough for a 2 MB Picture file ;)

I allready reregistert the shimgvw.dll installed; SP 3 deinstalled the
Samsung software but the problem still ocures. Files have only the
archiv-flag. Only the Windows internal programms are having problems.
If I use irfanview or photoshop everything works fine. But I want to
use the Windows Fax viewer.

I allways tried to convert the pictures on a different PC but the
problem occures there too.
HAs anyone any Idea how to solve this problem ?

Thank you and regards
Thomas

hi

here is a link to a reg file to restore/repair picture/fax viewer

note: back up your registry before applying!
