Vzirit.dll

Post by adi »

Hi Everyone,
I have a Dell Precision running Windows XP with SP3. In the last few months
every time I start the computer I get two error messages and I have no idea
how to resolve this.

FIRTS ERROR
RUNDLL
Error loading C:\Windows\Vzirit.dll
The specified module could not be found
The only option I have is to click OK.

I did a Google search but nothing comes up for this file. Also couldn?

First error: This is a residue of a virus/malware infection that was dealt
with by your virus scanner. Click Start / Run, then type msconfig.exe so
that you can examine the various tasks under the Startup tab. One of them
will be the offender. Untick it to get rid of the error message.

Second error: Selectively untick one item after the other under the Startup
tab until you have identified the program that generates the restart
message, then report back here. Do not untick your virus scanner.

Thank you very much for your help. Vzirit.dll is sorted now.

The program wanting to restart the computer is AdobeUpdater in C:\Programme
Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5\AdobeUpdater.exe

What do I do next? I am not really sure what needs to be update and the
computer restarted.

You do not need to update anything. Go back to msconfig and make sure
the program is not checked and reboot your computer. When you get the
small diagnosics window from msconfig that will show up when you reboot,
and assuming you got not error message, click the small box in the lower
left corner of the window. Do not get tempted to click OK as that will
undo everything that you have done.

If Adobe Updater is causing you a problem then you have two choices:
a) Disable the Updater while in Msconfig, or
b) Check the Adobe FAQ web pages as to why this happens.
