Help and Support

Post by carlton »

Help and Support does not open/run. There is no error message. In
"Services" it is shown as "started" and I have changed from manual to
automatic. When clicking on My Computer (in Services where a red arrow is
displayed) and then clicking on "com+applications" I get the following
message:
Catalog error- An error occurred while processing the last operation - Error
code 8004E00F-COM+ was unable to talk to Microsoft Distribution Transaction
Coordinator. The event log may contain troubleshooting information" I
sometimes also get this when staring the computer: "AWC.exe - unable to
locate component. The application failed because AWC Control.dll was not
found." Is this related? Can anyone help with this problem. Thanks.

If Advanced System Care Free (formerly Advanced Windows Care) is listed in
Add/Remove Programs, uninstall it.

If you think your Registry needs to be "cleaned" or "repaired," read
http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own conclusions.
