Getting these error messages on starting XP Home
Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services has encountered a prob and needs to
close.
sz App Name svchost.exe
sz Mod Name oleaut 32.dll
svchost.exe has gen errors and needs to close. You need to restart prog
FREEZES at this stage but able to "emergency close" and restart in safe.
I have installation CD. Can I replace these files from there?
I have XP SP3 installed so unable to reinstall SP2
Cleared error log and restarted, Produced lots of errors in SYSTEM

OMCL
SYMTDI
Have you any advice?

For the first problem, check this out:

This hotfix is incorporated in SP3 which you say you have installed;
therefore, at the start of the article, click the link: "Similar problems
and resolutions"
On the others, it appears references to the files are in one of the start up
locations, either in the registry or start up folder. If you are familiar
with editing the registry, do a find on the file names or go to the run keys
and delete the references to said files. If the registry is a mystery, run
msconfig and look at the start up tab. You can disable entries there by
removing a mark from in front of the file.
