Missing file qutil.dll
THIS CONTINUES A POSTING THAT I CANNOT NOW FIND. SORRY.
Jose replied: start by applying these:-
1) Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/
2) SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
3) AVG (AVG): http://free.avg.com/
Thank you for your reply. You were right. Found 7 in 1)
But, all cleaned up now, so what next ?
To check if anything was improved I ran
Run > CMD
IPCONFIG /ALL
and got same mesage about missing file qutil.dll
Where do I go from here ?

Missing file QUtil.dll follow up

Re: Missing file QUtil.dll follow up
Thanks again for these replies.
I can see that the file qutil.dll is in System 32\dllcache\
but confusingly with for example
Run > CMD
IPCONFIG /ALL
I get a mesage about file qutil.dll missing, which seems to contradict that;
so I reckon it is either "not registered" or that file is corrupt.
Also I downloaded qutil.dll online, and saved it in a file I created,
but just pasting it into System 32\dllcache\
and restarting, produced no change in the above test.
So the position is that I have the DLL file but do not know a way to insert
it,
or replace the (possibly corrupt) one that appears to be there.

Hello,
Your old thread is here

Do you happen to be using CA Antivirus? If so, check your quarantine for the
missing file.

Ian
Did you copy the dll from dlcache per Jose instructions and rebooted your
machine?
What happen if you opened a run command and typed:
regsvr32 qutil.dll click [OK]
I think your machine compromised and the Trojan took control and preventing
you from performing certain tasks!
http://xraymypc.com/process/Q/qutil.dll is in System 32\dllcache\

Be leery of advice from a SPAMMER. They have a different agenda than
their pretense of giving help. This one does know how to put his spam
in a signature (after a sigdash line) as evidenced by his first posts
but refuses to do so now because he is scared of newsreaders that strip
off signatures. He wants to ensure to shove his spam in your face.
