Repair/Reinstall mshtml.dll

Post by al campagna »

Hello all,
It started today, as Outlook Express crashing when printing any normal
email.
Error Signature:
AppName: msimn.exe
App Version: 6.0.2900.5512
ModName: mshtml.dll
Mod Version: 8.0.6001.18372
Offset: 002149F0

So... I attempted a System Restore, but it also crashed
(in Normal and Safe Mode) when selecting ANY backup date
from the Restore Calendar.
Error Signature:
AppName: rstrui.exe
App Version: 5.1.2600.5512
ModName: mshtml.dll
Mod Version: 8.0.6001.18372
Offset: 002149F0

I searched... and am still searching... the web for a solution.

How can I repair/reinstall mshtml.dll?

Thanks in advance,
Al Campagna

It looks as though I've got the situation squared away.

I came across several references to mshtml.dll belonging to IExplorer,
so...
I downloaded and reinstalled IE8 (I actually use Firefox), and that seems to
have repaired the mshtml.dll.

I can now print from OE, but have not tried the System Restore.

Odd that of all the suggested "cures" I followed up on the web... none
suggested
a reinstall of IE.
Well... I'm not one to argue with success...
