I have a USB external HDD connected - when I turn it on, I get the
expected 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the task bar.
When I try to execute it, I get the error - AN EXCEPTION OCCURED WHILE
TRYING TO RUN "shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll".
I have tried the few suggestions I found via Google on hotplug.dll
problems - with no luck.
I am running XP SP3.
Anyone?
Thanks

Restored from recent backup - problem has gone away (for now anyway).
I'll have to review updates since my backup.
Thanks
