Hi,
Short repetition of the question: start-up done after 180sec, disk for
30sec. quite and than active for about 4 minutes.
AVG removed and most of items mentioned in the start-up tab of MSconfig
(could also be done in Autoruns) disabled , but no change.
No back-up, no major task, systeem restore, AVG-scan, events-logs or other
programs running at the time of the disc activity.
I am sorry i missed your question and afterwards i had some difficulty to
copy the information of the Logon-tab from autoruns (only by copying line by
line it was possible)
No= no action performed on it nor in MSconfig neither in autoruns.

I'll make a note of what needs to start and what shouldn't from your list
below but if that doesn't solve your issue then I'm sorry but I can do no
more. If the wait is onerous - and 4 minutes certainly is more lengthy than
it should be - take the machine to a competent local computer tech or have
them come on-site if this is a business. Someone who can look at the machine
directly will have a far better chance of pinpointing the culprit(s) than
someone merely reading about it in a newsgroup. If you go this route, don't
use your local equivalent of a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.

I don't see anything for a printer. If you have a printer installed, perhaps
it or its attending software is the culprit.

answered my question about entries in Event Viewer. Event Viewer is well
worth examining because if something is attempting to start but failing,
trying again, failing, and then finally timing out that could produce the
symptoms you are seeing.

Indeed i think i have to look further in the events and there some which
gives a fault at that time.
One of them is : the parallell-driver service can not be started due to no
connection or has been disabled??????
I have no parallell port on my HP-laptob?? maybe a hint for you?
To answer your question on the printer: my current HP-printer is still
connected to an ME PC and when i need to print i set the ME-PC on , a local
connection is automaticaaly set up and the printing is performed.
I see no means to cancel that event? could it be a help?

Do a Google search using the search term "parallel port driver service can

You'll need to spend some time looking further in Event Viewer. Perhaps you

I will focus me on that one first.
I remember that during the first installation and also after a reinstall i
had problems with installing the remote printer in the network.
I succeeded finally by activating a new port with the same settings (i never
understood it) but i see now in the register there is HPlaser and a
HPlaserJet 4 available.
In Dev Mode Per User : HPLaser and in Dev Modes2 HPLaser and HPLaserJet 4
Could this be a reason?

As extra information i dedected the following:
-Parallell port story: i disabled the networkprinter, marked also once the
LPT1-port but no changes the event stays.
-On the faulty events there is further CAPI2 and LoadPerf
-On the information: QPcapsvc & avgemc
-There is also Client Sertificate Service and Lightscriber service which has
been started...?
This are all events started during the disactivities.
I thank hou very much for the help and i do realise that myself i can not go
deeper into it and as you said and expert has to look onto it.

You see, had you told me in the beginning that you had tried to install a
remote printer but failed and that there was no longer a remote printer
involved, I would have told you that the computer is probably looking for it
and eventually timing out. One of the very first things I asked you was if
you had mapped drives to network resources that no longer existed. You
didn't have a mapped drive, but you did have the computer looking for a
network resource that didn't exist. Oh well, water under the dam....
I can't untangle this from a newsgroup. A skilled computer tech needs to be
sitting at the machine. Don't use someone from a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad
type of place.

You see, had you told me in the beginning that you had tried to install a

The remote printer is working ok.
I disabled the port indicating \\remoet PC name but also no difference.
No LP1 port is marked ...so why is he looking to a parallell port which the
laptop even don't have?
Could this be a general fault?
So the question is still can something to be done it and so yes what is the
way to go?
Why should i go to an expert if there is no solution at all?

I didn't say there was no solution. I said that I personally couldn't
untangle things without being able to see the machine. Hence my suggestion
to get a pro to come and sort things out in person. Maybe someone else
