Are those DLLs in the windows system folder, or JUST in the VLC pgm folder?

Ummm, well now, that's QUITE a list you have above!
PLUS, why is this player 20 MB in size in the first place?

What about Media Player Classic and Zoom Player (and BOTH are quite small)
I still think 20 MB for simply a player (VLC) is outrageous, but who knows,
I may try it someday.

What??? Did you miss the ENTIRE discussion. Win9X has essentially *no*
unicode support unless specific to the application; W2K and up use it
for most everything. The OSs are NOT the same... are you also now
suffering from XP exposure...

Do a search for the vulnerabilities or look back through the posts here.

Pretty much.

Ergo vlc installing unicows.dll

I only connect to the net with 98SELite, maybe Linux in the
future.

I am aware.

Minor and temporary... Linux awaits...

OK. I did. Just the first page.

1) I don't run a server and never will.
2) I only use Win98SELite to go online and I am careful.
3) I don't run vlc when I'm online.
4) I don't have .net installed and never will
5) I don't even know what QuickPlayer is (although I have an
idea)
6) I don't use IE/OE, needless to say.
7) I do 95% of my web time-wasting with OffByOne which I am
reasonably sure is immune just like it is immune to javascript,
etc. And if it isn't,. I really don't care.

If the above seems a little thanatoid-oriented, it is. I know
people who run servers and don't know what they're doing could
suffer severely. Well, that's their problem.

I /do/ try to help when I know what I'm talking about (or think
I do) and when I can.
