Fully updated XP pro.
Recent clean install.
Video Codec properties, Mpeg-4 properties shows driver enabled but not
functioning properly.
Settings yields Driver error. "Cannot load Microsoft Mpeg-4 Video Codec
Driver. The driver file may be missing. Etc. "
Choosing to remove the device, it reinstalls with reboot with same issues.
Registry shows in system32, file mpg4c32.dll.
File does not exist.
Can someone explain what is going on or help me get straight? Please!
Upon installing video drivers yesterday I get a regpermwriter.exe error
also. These were for my ATI card.

Re: mpg4c32.dll
Thanks for the link. It explains some of the reason, maybe. It sounds like
MS decided to stop using that file, as in dispersing it. But they obviously
forgot to remove it from registry and video codec's. Or so it seems.
