Do I need to do anything to see new Ram in a Windows XP mach

Post by djw »

Do I need to hold down a key at startup or do something else to get
the computer to see the Ram?
I got some 2 X 256MB Non ECC Non Parity Unbuffered SDRAM
PC Rating: PC133 EDGE Brand 168PIN. I assume it is what my HP
Pavilion 7915 Desktop PC, I replaced the 128MB with two 256MB and it
would not boot. I put the 128MB back in with one of the 256MB and tit
booted but only showed the 128MB in the system control panel. I tried
the other Dimm with the same result,

Here is what I bought:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

There are probably better prices on the ram you need than the link I
included in the earlier post.

I suggest scan your computer with Crucial tool by going to here:

<http://www.crucial.com/uk/?click=true>

Or you could download CPU-Z tool from here:

<http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php>

The latest version of CPUID is: 1.53 and it will tell you everything about
Mobo and Ram.
