UrMot20 and Urdefer.dll

Post by JoshWills »

Hi all,

Apologies for being a complete newbie but, got a question for you.

I've been using my computer and it recently starting bringing up a "RunDLL" box which reads:

Error in C:\Users\Josh\AppData\Local|UrMot20\Urdefer.dll
Missing entry: Enum

I've check the directory location and there is nothing there. I've no idea what "UrMot20" is and it seems neither does Google. I've tried a few variations along with the"urdefer.dll" with no luck.

So, anyone have a clue what this is?!

Hi Josh,

These types of "rundll" errors are not that uncommon, but they take different shapes, or rather, related to different files. The source is, in all the cases I have seen, related to a previous malware infection. Your security suite has removed the infection, but not the startup call related to those files.

Check your antivirus log to confirm.

If you have not noticed any effects on your system from this error, I would simply remove the startup entry telling this file to load;

1st: Download Auto Runs.
Click Here: http://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip
Link basis: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 63902.aspx
2nd: Find the yellow highlighted Image Paths that ends with urdefer.dll. Usually you can locate those image paths from Scheduled Task.
3rd: Right click then delete.
4th: Try to find all yellow highlighted Image Paths that ends with urdefer.dll from "Everything" tab, delete them. NOTE: Carefully choose image paths that ends urdefer.dll only, if you deleted paths that are not high lightened then it might cause some trouble booting your PC.
5th: Reboot Computer
