So spybot tells me there is a virtumonde trojan in my zipfldr.dll. I notice
no system problems, but that's annoying to me. And spybot can't seem to
remove the trojan, no matter how many times I rerun it.
So can I manually unregister it, and re-register it ? Do I replace it with
a known good copy of zipfldr.dll ? Does it make sense that a trojan could
reside in this file ?
Thanks for reading.

Boot into Safe Mode and run Spybot to see if it will remove it.

Hi Bill,
Are you using Spybot S&D 1.52 by any chance?
The reason I ask is that I had Spybot S&D 1.52 give that same notification
about 'Virtumonde in zipfldr.dll' a couple of weeks ago.
As in your case, my machine ran fine, but v 1.52 couldn't seem to remove it.
I went to the S&D Forum and one of the S&D people said to update to the
latest version of S&D, v 1.62.
I did. Since then, whenever I run a scan, the 'Virtumonde in zipfldr.dll'
problem no longer appears.
