How to fix faluting module msvcrt.dll??

How to fix faluting module msvcrt.dll??
This application error is showing up in the event log when our FedEx software
is attempting to connect to the Fedex web site.
Actually the error description reads, "Faulting application commsetup.exe,
version 1.0.0.1, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.5512, fault
address 0x00037696.
Otherwise internet connectivity is working properly. I've been researching
this issue and about the only solution I'm seeing in Microsoft knowledge base
is to download library updates. When I go to the link - I don't see any
library updates.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Is your version of Sun Java up to date ? ( Ver 1.6.0_14 ). The
version in your \Windows\System32 is the latest. Some programs
make use of Side-by-Side assemblies where a specific version
of a .Dll is used for that application.

How do I check this? And if it's not the latest version, what do I need to do?

It was an older version and so I updated it. But I'm still getting the same
error. Any other ideas?

Re: How to fix faluting module msvcrt.dll??
Check your Add/Remove programs in Control Panel and make sure
only the latest Java is listed. If any lower revision Java's are listed go
ahead and uninstall.
I'd also check with FedEx and see if an updated version of the app
is available. Also check their support site for any mention of the fault
you're currently experiencing.

Re: How to fix faluting module msvcrt.dll??
That was the only version of Java listed. Unfortunately, I don't think Fed
Ex tech support is going to be much help. This is for new integration
software that integrates the FedEx shipping program with our ERP software.
So the latest updates have been installed. The FedEx guy said that when
they've seen this error before and it's usually been caused by Anti-virus or
Firewall software.
It seems to be only this one PC that's having the problem. So, I know it's
not an anti-virus or firewall issue or all of the PCs that use this would be
having the same issue.
Any other ideas based on this information?

Ex tech support is going to be much help. This is for new integration
software that integrates the FedEx shipping program with our ERP software.
So the latest updates have been installed. The FedEx guy said that when
they've seen this error before and it's usually been caused by Anti-virus or
Firewall software.
It seems to be only this one PC that's having the problem. So, I know it's
not an anti-virus or firewall issue or all of the PCs that use this would be
having the same issue.
Any other ideas based on this information?

Re: How to fix faluting module msvcrt.dll??
The only thing that comes to mind is other software on the computer.
Tracing down interactions is pretty difficult and time consuming. About
the only other suggestion would be to try the software in another user
account and see if the problem exists there as well.

Re: How to fix faluting module msvcrt.dll??
I'll try your suggestion but won't be able to get back with you for a while -
like at least a week. Thanks for your time.
