Can you run a local seaqrch for this Dll and see it's properties?
Your Anti-virus may be removed the viral infection but still in the Root
system and on the Registry. Please perform the cleaning steps to make sure
nothing lurking in the background trying to revive the infestation back to
action!.

Help - missing "msooelmiot.dll"

Re: Help - missing "msooelmiot.dll"
Your conclusion is doubtful. The more likely explanation is a malware
infestation.
Something like Malwarebytes might be worth a try.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
1.38 -freeware (if you upgrade you pay).
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-An ... 04572.html
Run Malwarebytes' and turn off your current anti-virus
before you do to avoid a conflict. Disregard the invitation on the web
site regarding the Registry Optimiser -a Registry Optimiser is not a
helpful utility.

RE: Help - missing "msooelmiot.dll"
nass-
I can't find the .dll anywhere on my local (or the web or MS).
I tried all your suggestions but am still having the issue.
Any other ideas?
This started happening after I installed Norton 360.
I contacted Norton they removed Norton from my computer but it still reads
the same error each time I open apps or the computer auto opens an app that
runs in the background.
Thanks!

You can download this tool "AutoRuns for Windows"
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 63902.aspx
And remove the entry from here:
Locate this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run =
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run =
look in
the right pane/window and remove the entry for it
"C:\Windows\System32\msooelmiot.dll"
Run disk cleanup and defrag in safe mode. Then run this command:
sfc /scannow
HTH.
