About every 5 or 6 6 times I sign into the internet, my browser screen is
all white and "done" appears in the bottom right (rather than the website
I'm trying to go to). This happens with both IE and Firefox (latest versions
of each). When I do a diagnostic, I get a message that says there's a
"winsock provider catalog error". If I reboot, the problem goes
away....until the next 5th or 6th attempt to log on. I have tried various
suggestions, including NETSH INT IP RESET C:\RESETLOG.TXT and downloading
and running VB Winfix 1.2 (suggested by Microsoft), but nothing seems to be
working. I ran a log file with Hijack This (also suggested by Microsoft) and
one of the entires was "Unknown nwproau.dll file". My file reads:
nwproau.dll and the properties say Version 5.1.2600.5512 XPSP 080413-2113.
(Windows XP, Service Pack 3). Is it possible that I this .dll file is the
one that is corrupt?

That .dll is a left-over ; do a search in the registry and delete .dll
with that name .

Re: Winsock Provider Catalog Error
Dell told me it was a valid. Now I'm afraid to delete it.
