HEEELLLPPPPP

Post by mmertz »

I recently was given a new computer. Windows XP is the operating system. When
I turn the computer on I get this error. On top of the error I get sound FX
of a "chime" and the end "trumpets" as if I was logging off inadvertently.
Here is the error

"This application has failed to start because sisapcom.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Your new computer should have come with a software CD. Look for
Video driver on CD and reinstall driver. Check here for more info
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerr ... sapcom.dll was not found.

"I recently was given a new computer...." That's all we need to know.

Whenever you receive a previously used computer, the first thing you do
is erase it and reinstall the software. You have no idea what kind of
malware may be present or how the previous owner messed things up. The
only way to be sure that your computer is malware-free and setup
correctly is to erase the hard disk and start fresh.

agree 100%. if you get a used pc the first thing to do is format hd,
then run c/disk. thereafter reinstall what you need, incl. os

Good advice about running CHKDSK. I hadn't thought of that. I suppose
the disk manufacturer's diagnostics might be even better.

He didn't say it was a used computer, he said a new one. Of course, it could
have been used but new to him ;-)

First thing I'd do is contact the person who "gave" you the "new"
computer. Perhaps there's a reason why he or she gave the computer away.

If your computer is "New" to you and not a Factory New Computer then I
agree with all the other posters. Just do a google search on Formatting a
Hard Drive.

Better still just go to www.bootdisk.com and look under Guides To

You're talking about performing the equivalent of brain surgery on your
computer, and you admit that you are "somewhat new to computer management."

I guess it depends on what value you place on the software and data
stored on your computer. I appreciate that different people feel
differently. Me, if I was a novice, I'd have a professional do it.

Turn your computer over to someone who has a clue.
