Have you ever seen this error. I called Dell and was told that my warranty
does not cover software problems and this the charge would be $239 to fix.
The couple of solutions googled didn't work. The problem has something to do
with XP Service Pack 3, Net Framework 1.1, and Media Center Rollup 2. One of
the dll's has been overwritten by a later upgrade.
If you ask me, it's a bunch of bullshit. You'd think that after their
screw-up, Microsoft would fix the problem for free.

Why is it Microsoft's problem that you fouled up your computing environment?
Why is it Microsoft's problem when they weren't the one that sold you the
OS? The OEM (Dell) sold you THEIR customized version of Windows. Microsoft
isn't responsible for OEM support because you didn't pay for Microsoft's
support. Does Dell's custom setup work if you wipe the OS partition by
performing a restore of their recovery image to restore your host to its
factory-time state?
